Frequently asked questions

How do I unlock the full game?

Open Settings (the gear on the home screen), press and hold the button for 3 seconds, and choose the full unlock. The purchase is made through Google Play, which shows the price before you confirm. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

I already bought the unlock. How do I get it back on a new phone or after reinstalling?

Make sure the Play Store on the device is signed in with the Google account that made the purchase, and that the device is online. Then open Settings and choose Restore purchases. The unlock belongs to that Google account and works on all your Android devices where it is signed in to Google Play.

In-app purchases cannot be shared through Google Play Family Library.

How do I ask for a refund?

Within 48 hours of buying, you can usually request a refund directly from Google Play (see support.google.com/googleplay/answer/15574908).

After 48 hours, write to support@itsnobody.net with the Google Play order number. We treat every request fairly, in line with Google Play's policies and your rights under the law. If a refund is given, Google Play removes the unlock; your pet and progress stay on the device.

How do I cancel a purchase?

Wherever you live, you may cancel the full unlock within 14 days of buying it. Send a cancellation notice by e-mail to support@itsnobody.net, by post (ordinary or registered) to ITSNOBODY.NET, the registered business name of Yakov Ganam, 16 Yitzhak Ben Zvi St., Petah Tikva, Israel, or in any other way the law allows, and please include your name and the Google Play order number. There is no cancellation fee, and we will arrange the refund to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your notice. The full details are in the Terms of Use.

My child bought the unlock without asking. What can I do?

Write to support@itsnobody.net with the order number and we will arrange a refund. To prevent it in future, set Google Play to ask for authentication before purchases, or use parental controls or Google Family Link (support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1075738).

How do I back up Nozu or move him to a new phone?

Open Settings and choose to export a backup. Android's file picker opens; save the file wherever you like, for example on Google Drive. On the new phone, install Nozu, open Settings, choose to import a backup and pick the file. Then restore the unlock as described above.

The backup file contains your pet and progress and is not encrypted, so keep it private.

What happens if I uninstall Nozu or clear its data?

Everything Nozu keeps on the device, including the pet and all progress, is permanently deleted. There is no copy on our side and no automatic cloud backup, so export a backup first if you want to keep Nozu. The unlock is not lost: it stays with your Google account and can be restored.

Does Nozu need the internet?

No. Nozu plays fully offline. Only buying or restoring the unlock needs a connection to Google Play.

Why does Google Play list network permissions for Nozu?

They come from Google's billing components, which Nozu needs for the optional purchase. The game itself contains no network code and sends nothing to us. The Privacy Policy explains what Google's components send to Google.

Is Nozu's brain real?

Nozu is a cartoon character. Some of his reactions come from a simplified computer simulation built on the wiring map of a real fruit fly (MaleCNS v1.0). What lights up in the Brain Window is real output of that model, but a model is not a living fly, and it does not give Nozu thoughts or feelings.

Can Nozu be made easier to use?

Yes. The settings include reduced motion, separate music and sound-effect volumes, a vibration switch and a battery mode, and in practice mode children play without hearts to lose. The Accessibility Statement lists the features and the known limitations.

Which devices does Nozu work on?

Android phones and tablets with Google Play running Android 8.0 or later. On a phone Nozu is played in portrait orientation; on a tablet or a foldable the screen turns with the device.

How do I delete my data or ask a privacy question?

Everything about your pet is on your device: uninstall Nozu, or clear its storage in Android's settings, to delete it. For e-mails or order records we hold, write to privacy@itsnobody.net.
